The Joint LMA Terrorism and Political Violence Underwriting and Claims Panels met on 6 May 2026 to review market developments, wordings issues and ongoing actions. Members noted progress by the Active Assailant Working Party on a model wording. The main discussion focused on the Middle East conflict, including concerns around war exclusions, law and jurisdiction, and inconsistent approaches to terrorism cover in the market. Members agreed to form a joint underwriting and claims working party with LMA Legal to explore possible wording solutions and practical options for the market. The Panel also received updates on notification of war clauses, data centre risks and broker-amended wordings, with members asked to provide examples of unnotified changes. Under AOB, members were reminded of the upcoming LMA Academy Foundation for Terrorism Insurance course.
