US General Liability Business Panel meeting – 21 May 2026

The US General Liability Business Panel met on 21 May and had a follow-up discussion from Lloyd’s previous presentation and agreed it would be useful to invite Daniel Sisson back later in the year. The Panel discussed draft single-use plastics exclusionary wording, which will be reviewed by the Wordings Committee before returning for Panel and Non-Marine Committee sign-off. An update was provided on ISO’s new war exclusion, including its interaction with cyber language.

Members also considered large verdicts, social inflation, disclosure practices and potential use of Moody’s litigation and emerging risk tools. Further discussion covered planned briefings on ultra-processed foods, PFAS and social media/addiction claims. Updates were received from the International Liability Panel and Non-Marine Committee, including model LTA wording, advertising liability and AI claims, governing law clauses, Brazilian regulatory changes, data centres, cyber language and the LMA AI definition project.
