The Panel noted publication of the updated BEVA euthanasia guidance and considered the final guidance consistent with previous discussions between the veterinary and insurance communities. 

Members agreed to develop an educational resource for equine veterinary professionals explaining the fundamentals of mortality insurance, including coverage structure, key provisions, exclusions and extensions. The initiative is intended to improve understanding of insurance among veterinarians entering the profession. 

The Panel discussed topics for future market lectures and educational events, including reproductive issues and increasing claims activity relating to cervical and spinal conditions in horses. 

Members supported a review of market wordings and endorsements to improve consistency, reduce duplication and provide clearer guidance on the appropriate use of wordings in different territories. The Panel also agreed to review consumer and commercial forms to ensure greater alignment across jurisdictions. 

Additional wording-related discussions included amendments to war and disease exclusions, development of a model wording for stallion permanent disability cover relating to artificial insemination risks, and consideration of recently published cyber exclusions. 

The Panel also reviewed the availability of claims data and discussed options for obtaining broader market-level reporting to support analysis and market awareness.
