Directors & Officers Committee – 23 April 2026

The committee received an update on the development of the LMA Academy’s Directors’ and Officers’ liability training programme. Discussions focused on the use of anonymised market wordings and practical clause negotiation exercises designed to enhance technical understanding and support professional development across the market.

Members reviewed feedback from the recent committee effectiveness survey. Responses were broadly positive, with discussion focusing on opportunities to strengthen committee objectives, market monitoring and engagement with Lloyd’s on emerging trends and data insights.

The committee considered a range of legal and market developments, including forthcoming UK employment law reforms, proposed changes to collective consumer claims processes and the potential implications for future D&O exposures. Members also discussed claims notifications arising from social engineering fraud incidents, the interaction between D&O and crime policies, and considerations relating to liability allocation and policy exclusions.

Updates were also received from the LMA Non-Marine Committee, while broader market discussions covered international developments, legal cost inflation within securities class actions and planning for future engagement with Lloyd’s on D&O market performance and emerging risks.
