The LMA’s Legal Trainee Wordings Scheme is a structured two-year programme designed to develop qualified, market-ready solicitors with strong technical skills in wordings, underwriting and regulatory matters. It plays a key role in strengthening the legal and wordings expertise across the Lloyd’s and wider London insurance market.
This scheme reflects the LMA’s commitment to building capability, supporting professional growth and meeting the rising demand for specialist legal knowledge. Trainees gain hands-on experience whilst at the LMA and through placements with managing agencies, supported by a robust curriculum of technical training modules specifically designed for the insurance sector.
By the end of the programme, trainees are equipped for employment across the market as qualified solicitors, bringing a strong foundation in insurance law and practical insight into the drafting and development of policy wordings.
