The LMA Cyber Claims Group provides a platform for claims practitioners to discuss common topics and issues of interest or concern to the cyber market. Reporting to the LMA Claims Committee, the group makes best practice recommendations for implementation across the cyber claims market.
The group provides a representative forum to facilitate discussion of topical issues and common concerns within the cyber market. It advises and provides feedback to the LMACC and other LMA sector groups when cyber claims issues have wider implications across the London market. To address specific market issues or concerns, the Group establishes projects or sub-groups where appropriate.
In collaboration with the LMA Academy, the group has developed training programmes designed to aid all levels of cyber professionals in managing and handling cyber risks. The flagship course, Cyber Foundation Programme, runs annually and is aimed at helping early talent to recognise and understand cyber threats and manage claims.
The group hosts an annual Cyber Claims Forum, bringing together delegates from across the Lloyd’s market to explore emerging cyber trends, hear expert insights on systemic cyber events and examine their impact on claims handling. The forum supports knowledge sharing and equips attendees with the skills to respond effectively to evolving cyber risks.
The group contributed to the LMA’s response to the UK Government Ransomware Legislative Proposals, providing expertise on behalf of the claims market.
