Members reviewed developments in the Middle East, including discussions regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the potential impact on vessel transits. The Committee also received an update on proposed transit fee wording designed to address sanctions-related exposures associated with transits through the region. 

A legal update covered sanctions and war risk matters, including ongoing litigation, issues relating to aggregation and causation in conflict-related claims. Members also discussed current claims activity and received an update on market claims analysis initiatives. 

The Committee considered the effectiveness of existing survey guidelines, including survey scope, reporting standards, crew competency considerations, and opportunities presented by increased digitalisation. Updates were also provided by a number of working groups covering navigation limits, JH143 survey wording, and yachts.
