The Personal Accident Business Panel met on 8th July 2026 and focused on several key market initiatives. A detailed review of the US Accident Form continued, with discussions covering new clauses relating to examinations under oath, arbitration, cooperation, conflict of laws, claims notification, premium refunds and benefit structures. Members examined the interaction between “first manifest” wording and pre-existing condition exclusions, identifying areas requiring further clarification before finalisation. The panel also reviewed reporting challenges for master and group policies, noting inconsistencies between lead and follow market reporting and agreeing to reconvene the working group to develop a standardised approach. Progress was reported on loss scenario research, including benchmarking exercises for major conflict-related events and collection of aggregate exposure data. Members received an update on Phase 2 of Project Spring Clean, which is reviewing and modernising legacy clauses and wordings. Further volunteers were requested to support the project and prioritise clauses requiring revision.
