The June Property Reinsurance Business Panel meeting concentrated on outstanding actions and market initiatives. Members reviewed Lloyd’s performance analysis, noting that separating retrocession exposures from non-US catastrophe business produced minimal changes to long-term loss ratio results, although further engagement with Lloyd’s Performance Management Directorate was requested. Progress on occurrence model definitions for wildfire and earthquake wordings was discussed, with publication expected after extensive consultation involving underwriting and wording specialists. Considerable attention was given to the LMA’s legacy wording “spring clean” initiative, which seeks to archive obsolete property treaty clauses and modernise key war, terrorism and entire agreement provisions. Volunteers were requested to support this work. The Data Centres Working Group update generated significant discussion, particularly regarding aggregation and accumulation risk. Members expressed concern over inconsistent exposure data provided by cedants and brokers and supported development of a standardised information request framework and potentially a centralised database of major data centre assets. The meeting also touched on US regulatory developments and emerging concerns around war exclusions and unexploded munitions coverage.
