Role of the team

The core functions of the LMA Legal team include:

  • Identifying and sharing legal developments relevant to the Lloyd’s market with member firms
  • Reviewing and advising on legal matters impacting Lloyd’s managing and members’ agents
  • Supporting other LMA teams and committees with legal aspects of their work
  • Co-ordinating member feedback on legal proposals and consultations, where appropriate
  • Enhancing communication between LMA members, Lloyd’s (including Lloyd’s Insurance Company) and legal stakeholders
  • Providing practical guidance on legal developments and their implications for the market
  • Running the LMA Legal Committee and associated sub-committees and forums
  • Collaborating with other market associations to promote effective engagement and alignment across the market.
