The LMA Company Secretarial Forum (Co-Sec Forum) was re-formed in 2025 and meets quarterly. Its purpose is to provide an informal, collaborative space for company secretaries across the market to share best practice, discuss emerging issues and exchange practical insights on governance and regulatory matters.

Recent discussions have covered:

• competition law training
• using AI for minute-taking
• criteria for Board oversight versus delegation to committees
• ID verification processes at Companies House.

Lawyers Forum

The LMA Lawyers’ Forum offers a dynamic space for all in-house counsel and legal professionals within LMA member firms. Designed to explore emerging legal themes and provide a platform to share insights, the forum provides an invaluable platform for connection and collaboration.

Forum attendees benefit from topical presentations, peer-led discussions and collective responses to key industry issues, ensuring legal teams stay informed, engaged and ahead of the curve.

The forum is open to all legal professionals employed by managing agencies and other member firms, regardless of whether or not they are employed within the legal function.

Legal Committee

The LMA Legal Committee brings together top-tier legal minds, such as General Counsel and equivalent senior lawyers, from across Lloyd’s managing agencies. As a strategic, high-level committee reporting directly to the LMA Board, it leads critical thinking on legal matters impacting the market.

From shaping discussions around the Lloyd’s Europe platform to navigating emerging regulatory landscapes, the committee plays a pivotal role in safeguarding and advancing the legal interests of the market.

Next Gen Legal Committee

The Next Gen Legal Group is a shadow committee to the LMA Legal Committee, who operate as an Executive Board for legal within the Lloyd’s market. Next Gen aims to increase engagement with the Next Generation of Legal Leaders at a time when the strategic priorities and objectives of Lloyd’s and the market would benefit from those that will live with the future, developing the future.
