The LMA Company Secretarial Forum (Co-Sec Forum) was re-formed in 2025 and meets quarterly. Its purpose is to provide an informal, collaborative space for company secretaries across the market to share best practice, discuss emerging issues and exchange practical insights on governance and regulatory matters.

Compliance Officers’ Group

The Compliance Officers’ Group (COG) plays a pivotal role in supporting managing agents in meeting their regulatory obligations and enhancing their compliance frameworks. Acting as a central forum, the group facilitates the exchange of knowledge, regulatory developments and emerging best practices across the Lloyd’s market.

The COG engages directly with regulators, industry bodies and market stakeholders to interpret and address regulatory changes that impact the Lloyd’s market. It serves as a collaborative space where compliance professionals can discuss shared challenges, align on key interpretations and develop unified responses to consultations and policy proposals.

By producing guidance materials, hosting briefings, and promoting market-wide initiatives, the group ensures that members are well-equipped to navigate the dynamic regulatory landscape and uphold high standards of conduct and governance.

Joint Data Protection Committee

The Joint Data Protection Committee, formed by the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) and the International Underwriting Association (IUA), provides a unified forum for managing agents and company market insurers to address data protection and privacy challenges across the London insurance market.

With data governance and regulatory compliance becoming increasingly critical, the committee plays an essential role in promoting consistent approaches to data protection, including adherence to UK GDPR and related legislation. Conduct Committee

The LMA Conduct Committee supports the Lloyd’s market in understanding and responding to conduct-related regulatory expectations. It provides a forum for senior compliance and conduct professionals from managing agents to share insights, address challenges and help shape market-wide approaches to customer outcomes, complaints handling and distribution practices.

The committee engages regularly with Lloyd’s Conduct Assurance and Complaints teams, as well as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), to ensure alignment with supervisory priorities and evolving best practices. It also supports the development of guidance and tools to help managing agents implement effective conduct risk frameworks.

Through collaboration and shared learning, the Conduct Committee plays a key role in promoting a consistent and proportionate approach to conduct across the market. Reporting into the LMA Regulatory Committee, its work is guided by objectives that align with broader market goals.

Financial Crime Workstream

The Lloyd’s Market Association established the Financial Crime Workstream to provide strategic guidance and practical support to managing agents in navigating the evolving landscape of financial crime risks. With increasing regulatory scrutiny and the growing complexity of global threats, the workstream serves as a vital hub for collaboration, intelligence sharing and best practice development across the market.

Next Gen REGCOM

The Next Gen REGCOM Committee plays a vital role in cultivating the next wave of regulatory leadership within the Lloyd’s market. Formed under the LMA Committee structure, the group provides a platform for emerging regulatory professionals to connect, collaborate and contribute to shaping the future of the industry.

Through its focus on diversity, professional development and thought leadership, the committee supports a pipeline of talent ready to address evolving regulatory challenges and opportunities. Reporting into the LMA Regulatory Committee, its work is guided by a set of defined objectives that align with broader market goals.

Regulatory Committee

The role of the Regulatory Committee (RegCom) is to serve as the LMA Board’s strategic voice on regulatory and compliance matters, ensuring that the evolving regulatory landscape is navigated with clarity, expertise and foresight. Comprising of senior compliance leaders from member firms, RegCom provides valuable insights and feedback to the Board, LMA members and Lloyd’s.

The committee’s work is powered by three specialist workstreams:

• Conduct Workstream: Meets monthly with Lloyd’s Conduct Assurance and Complaints teams, and quarterly with the FCA’s Lloyd’s and London Market Supervision team.
• Prudential Workstream: Holds quarterly engagements with the PRA’s Lloyd’s supervisory team.
• International Regulatory Workstream: Maintains a monthly dialogue with Lloyd’s International Regulatory Affairs team.

Through these active channels, RegCom ensures LMA members remain informed, represented and resilient in a complex regulatory environment.
